In Memoriam:
Robert “Bob” Luchetti, Sr.
1931–2026
The Ohio County Solid Waste Authority remembers Robert “Bob” Luchetti, Sr. with gratitude for his many years of service to the Authority and to the greater Ohio County community.
Mr. Luchetti served on the OCSWA Board from July 1, 2008 through February 28, 2023. During nearly fifteen years with the Authority, he contributed his time, experience, and perspective to its governance and continuity as OCSWA’s programs, services, and role in the community continued to grow and evolve.
His service to OCSWA was one part of a much broader lifetime of community involvement.
Throughout his life, Mr. Luchetti contributed to Ohio County through business, agriculture, conservation, infrastructure, and civic service. His experience as a contractor, farmer, and community leader brought a practical understanding of land, infrastructure, development, and public service to the many local boards and organizations on which he served.
That experience was particularly meaningful during a period of substantial growth and development in the county. His public service included involvement with the Ohio County Public Service District, the Wheeling-Ohio County Planning Commission, and the Ohio County Solid Waste Authority, among other organizations and community efforts.
At its September 28, 2026 meeting, the Ohio County Solid Waste Authority formally adopted a Resolution of Appreciation and Memorial Recognition honoring Mr. Luchetti’s years of service and preserving that recognition within the Authority’s official record.
OCSWA is grateful for the many years Bob devoted to the Authority and for the experience, knowledge, and commitment to community that he brought to his service.
We extend our sincere condolences to the Luchetti family and join the community in remembering a life marked by decades of service to Ohio County.
